This music site, allofmp3.com, run by a Russian outfit, promises music downloads for as little as a penny a megabyte. In other words, six or seven cents per song, as opposed to iTMS’s 99 cents per song. #
I don’t see any indication of DRM restrictions, and no obvious gotchas. I’m not signing up yet, but I’m going to keep a close eye on this. Their catalog is something like 16000 artists and almost 200,000 songs from artists like The Beatles, Queen, Frank Zappa, The Beach Boys and more. Plus, the service will do on-the-fly encoding so that you can download in any file format you desire. #
